book an appointmentDr. Melanie was born and raised in Santa Monica and is dedicated to providing excellent dental care to her community. She completed both her undergraduate degree and dental degree at the University of Southern California. After graduation, Dr. Melanie completed a year-long Comprehensive Esthetic Residency program as well as several extensive courses on topics such as supra-gingival dentistry, composite and porcelain restorations, and occlusion. Dr. Melanie is happy to provide her patients with both general and cosmetic dental services. She is a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), California Dental Association (CDA), and Western Los Angeles Dental Society (WLADS).
Wilshire Dental was founded in 2000 by Dr. Melanie's father, Dr. Elliot Schlang. Throughout the years, Dr. Schlang established several practices across Los Angeles, but Wilshire Dental is special, as it served his home community. A graduate and clinical faculty member of UCLA's dental school, Dr. Schlang instilled a deep passion for dentistry in his family. Dr. Melanie was thrilled to take over the family practice, drawing on her father's invaluable mentorship to refine her own dental techniques. Now living in Brentwood with her husband and two sons, Dr. Melanie is dedicated to serving the community where she grew up.

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Melanie for almost ten years. The office is open on Saturdays and that is very convenient and makes it easier to keep up with my cleanings and check-ups.
